Another installation we're working on is "The Net" . A very creative title indeed, this is a gigantic gardening net that we have attached to the wall on our Specials level. We use clothespins to attach our art to our net. Right now, students are working on drawing. Specifically they are learning how to draw from observation, using resources on still life, portraiture, and architecture to do so.

With the start of the new year, our students worked collaboratively to promote kindness, peace, and understanding throughout our school. We talked about how to be a good friend, a kind person, and things we can do every day to help others. Together, we created a beautiful chandelier made of individual origami pieces. Upper Elementary students are sewing each individual piece to the frame of the chandelier and securing with glue. The chandelier will hang in common spaces to remind us of our commitment to being helpful, thoughtful, and kind.
A picture of a 4th grader's newest creation--a sketchbook cover! We're really excited to be using sketchbooks in our art room this year.

She says you could celebrate your birthday with these cookies, or different holidays! Two fourth grade students worked hard on these awesome architectural pieces this week! Very functional, very cozy.Rex in Grade 2 has a serious passion for drawing dragons. The detail and concentration he showed in his work was so awesome, almost like a tattoo artist! So, I of course volunteered my hand as his canvas. |
